Lake George Village government will be spending nearly double the amount during the upcoming 2025-26 fiscal year than it did in 2024-25 — but the village tax levy will be decreasing by 2.8 percent, according to a tentative budget summary released March 27 by village mayor Ray Perry. Sun Community News reports Perry said the tax rate was likely to increase from $4.93 cents per thousand of assessed valuation to $5.00 per thousand, an increase of 1.4 percent.
