Have you dreamt of driving of a real steam engine, or taking the controls of a powerful diesel locomotive? Why not tick something off your bucket list with Lappa Valley's Train Driver Experience and see the railway from a truly unique vantage point.

Meet your driver and ride on the footplate for the last train of the day to collect the final passengers from East Wheal Rose. Get to know the locomotive whilst watching one of our qualified drivers operate the locomotive up the gradient and back down again.

After arriving at Benny Halt, you will help the driver turn the locomotive, clean lubricate the engine before taking to the control and driving your own private train for two trips of the line where up to 4 guests can ride on the train that you are driving.

Lappa Valley's Driver courses include a personalised gift voucher emailed to you free of charge, and a certificate at the end.

The voucher is valid for 12 months - but subject to availability. Our courses are extremely popular, so we highly recommend booking your course as soon as possible. You can choose from either a steam or diesel course, subject to availability. Please note that steam locomotives are only available at certain times of the year.
